Little Help please?

So my parrot craze has started up again, which is why I have been posting a little bit more lately, and I’ve suddenly become really interested in conures, and if it’s not too much to ask, could some of you conure owners tell me a little bit about caring for conures? Like what are some basic necessities for keeping them healthy and what are things to avoid and just facts about them. Please don’t be afraid to message me I really want to know!

The Internet could tell me yes but I’d rather hear from an actual owner.

Does any of my lovely followers have a sun conure?? Well, if so I’m so jealous of you and I’m also excited because in 4 years and 3 months this is gonna be the first type of parrot ill ever welcome into my home. :) can’t wait for that day!

Me a year ago at the parrot store. Finally got a hold of this picture again. This girl was such a sweetheart, would’ve brought her home in a Heartbeat.

So yesterday my friends and I went to our local animal store. And they had a couple cages that contained some finches, a couple budgies, two quakers, and one cockatiel. All of these birds were absolutely terrified when you walked up to them. All of them were shaking and huddling in the corner while keeping one eye watching you at all times. Now, I normally am not excited by cockatiels at all. But I felt really bad for this one cause I’m pretty sure it’s the same one that has been there for the past year. So I put my finger through the cage bars to see what the birds reaction would be. It immediately lunged for my finger with an open beak so I pulled away. I walked over and grabbed a couple bird seeds and brought them back to the cage and fed about three of them to the little guy. After the third, I put my finger through the bar again, he opened his mouth again but never lunged. He kept his mouth open like that for about 5 seconds then bowed his head towards me through the bars. He was actually letting me scratch his head. So I sat there for a while scratching the little dudes head. Then I had to get my friend home so sadly we had to leave. But, I can now say that I have a whole new respect for cockatiels. Anyone here have a cockatiel? If so what’s his/her name?
